Seacoast farmers’ markets are filling up with summer’s colorful bounty — here’s just a sampling from this week’s Dover Farmers’ Market. Above: turnips, beets, radishes and scallions from Connolly’s Gardens.
Sunflowers, summer squash and cucumbers from Wake Robin Farm.
Beet greens from Riverside Farm, and beets from Wake Robin Farm.
A version of this post also appears at Seacoast Eat Local.
The colours of the radishes and beets are amazingly similar aren’t they. I love the look of those cucumbers.
Wonderful wonderful colors!
What great photos and fabulous colours. I like the stripy zucchini and the little squat ones too.
Its making me long for summer.
Beautiful colours-makes you want to reach for some pastels to paint them…except I can’t paint!! Thank you for sharing. And to think some people fail to see the beauty in vegetables.
It is obvious that a person would love the red hues of beets and sunny yellow flowers, but the beauty of the shades of summer squash is a surprise. Thanks for bringing them to life to brighten my day.
